IMS Schedule, August 19-21 1909

This schedule for the upcoming first automobile races held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway races appeared in the August 15, 1909 Indianapolis Star.
 
A word of caution is in order here. I have not yet cross-referenced this information which was a planned schedule of races at the Speedway with what actually transpired. All I can be sure of is at the time this was published - four days in advance of the first day of racing - is that this is what everyone involved believed would happen. The first day did go off according to this schedule with one exception. That is the fact that the organizers did stage a time trial where several drivers competed for fastest time for a distance of one mile - not even a complete lap of the 2.5 mile track.
