Knight, Tetzlaff Accidents

This brief item was published in the May 31, 1911 Indianapolis Star. It features images of Joe Jagersberger, Harry Knight, Teddy Tetzlaff and his riding mechanic, Dave Lewis. The brief copy discusses how each of these men were involved in accidents during the race. Most spectacular was the well documented home straightaway accident triggered by Jagersberger's Case entry breaking a steering knuckle and Knight swerving to avoid riding mechanic C.L. Anderson, who fell from the Case onto the track. Knight then slammed into the Apperson of Herb Lytle and the Fiat of Caleb Bragg. More obscure was Lozier driver Tetzlaff's accident which also involved Louis Disbrow.
