Outing on Fisher's Farm

This is a very brief item published in the August 12, 1909 Indianapolis Star. It notes a charitable act by Carl Fisher, one of the four founders of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It notes that Fisher owned a farm near the New Augusta community of Indianapolis and provided the grounds and the farm house for an "outing" for mothers and their children. The nature of the "outing" or the circumstances of the mothers and their children is unclear. The obvious assumption is that these were underprivileged families and this was an offer to make their lives a little easier.
