Joe Dawson as a Child

In this contribution from Larry Snyder, the grandson of Joe's brother Charles, we can see a picture of both 1912 Indianapolis 500 winner Joe Dawson and his brother Charles Francis Dawson as young boys cira 1992. Their parents were Clara Belle Crooke Dawson and Chase Francis Dawson. Charles was born February 27, 1888 in Loogootee, Indiana and passed away July 28, 1973 at Chico, California. Joseph Crooke Dawson was born July 17, 1889 in Oden, Indiana and passed away June 17, 1946 in Pennsylvania. Joe sits in the chair in this photo.
 
Joe had two other younger siblings that would be born in later years - brother Albert and sister Reign.
