The attached full page advertisement ran in the Sunday, March 20, 1910 edition of the Indianapolis Star. The ad was purchased by the Indianapolis Automobile Trade Association (IATA) and was designed to not only promote the Indianapolis Auto Show beginning March 28 but also all the association's member companies.
The ad is a nice directory of auto industry players of the day who saw Indianapolis as a valuable market. This included dealerships, local manufacturers, out-of-state manufacturers, tire companies, carburetor companies and other accessory businesses. Here is just a sample of some of the great names:
- Fisher Automobile Company
- G&J Tire Company
- Cole Motor Car Company
- National Motor Vehicle Company
- Diamond Chain
- Maxwell-Briscoe
- Marmon cars
- Prest-O-Lite
This is just a sample. There were dozens more and well worth the time to take a look. In most instances the city addresses of the companies are provided. It's simply a great reference.
