This is a photo of Benz driver Willie Haupt during the 1910 American Grand Prize. The race was staged in Savannah, Georgia on November 12 with David Bruce-Brown winning. Haupt and Bruce-Brown were teammates with Victor Hemery, who finished second. Haupt drove the smallest of the three Benz entries with an engine capacity of 736 cubic inches. His teammates had 920 cubic inch capacity cars. Haupt crashed out of the race on lap 13 (of 24) while leading.
