Wayne Carroll Petersen is a Barney Oldfield enthusiast and collector of memorabilia from the famous driver. This is a collection of images of rare photos as well as Oldfield's awards now in Mr. Petersen's collection. Note Oldfield's "Master Driver of the World" medal for his 1914 victory in the Los Angeles-to-Phoenix off-road race, also known as the Cactus Derby. Petersen is a great-great-nephew of Bess Gooby, who was married to Oldfield on two different occasions. Bess was Wayne Petersen's grandmother's aunt.
