Keystone Oil Ad - 1906

Keystone Gas & Oil promoted the fact that all competitors in the May 1906 Decoration Day race meet at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The star of the meet was Barney Oldfield, who is pictured here in his Peerless Green Dragon with rival Paul Kaiser in the Peerless White Streak. The two battled wheel-to-wheel in the the feature event called the Hoosier Sweekpstakes. Oldfield ended up winning the two-heat event to take home $1,000 in gold coin.
