James Allison

This image appeared in the August 15, 1909 Indianapolis Star as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prepared for its first automobile races. This is a portrait shot of James Allison (I wrote the Wikipedia entry on him), one of the four founders of the famous Speedway. Allison's two obituaries are excellent sources of information about the man. Author Sigur Whitaker also wrote the only biography on Allison.
