LaDoyt Earl "Doyt" Atha, Sr.

Thanks to the Paul Sheedy Collection for this photo of accomplished 1920's dirt track racer, Doyt Atha. Atha never competed in America's only major auto race of the era - the Indianapolis 500. His closest opportunity came when he was on standby to drive relief for 1927 Indianapolis 500 winner George Souders.
