Goux - 1913 French Grand Prix

The original source reports that this is a photo of Jules Goux  at the 1913 French Grand Prix in Amiens, France. Goux drove his Peugeot racer to second place. Goux also won  the Indianapolis 500 later that same year. Note the flimsy wire fences offering zero protection for the spectators leaning on them. What a different time.
