George Souders, 1927

Here's another image from the Paul Sheedy collection. George Souders, the 1927 Indianapolis 500 champion, appears here at the wheel of his winning Duesenberg. Souders also raced in the 1928 Indianapolis 500 and finished third. Those were his only two "500" starts, so his finishing record is impressive.
