John Greenwood Tribute Corvette

This an image of a tribute car paying homage to John Greenwood's 1970's-era Corvette sports cars. These iconic cars were USA fan favorites heralded by the unfurling of a sea of American flags from the grandstands. This particular car is a 2014 Corvette C7.R that was driven by Tommy Milner during the Monterey Historics.
 
The original "Spirit of America" racer was from 1976. With the help restoration mechanics you can hear the original car roar here. Greenwood, a designer, mechanic and racer was known for his "muscular" wide-body configurations in the pre-ground effects era. He raced in all the major sports car events such as Le Mans, Sebring and the Daytona 24 as well as the IMSA GT championship series.
