Charlotte Board Track Action 1927

This dramatic shot shows Frank Lockhart on his way to winning a race at the Charlotte Speedway board track. Although the margin note says this image was captured in November 1926, I believe it was September 19, 1927, and this event was one of three contests that day. The great Harry Miller constructed Lockhart's winning Miller race carLockhart was a phenom best known for dominating the 1926 Indianapolis 500
