This image shows Bennett Hill on his way to victory at the Culver City board track on March 21, 1926. Hill drove a front-wheel-drive Miller. Hill was a veteran of eight Indianapolis 500s, with a best finish of eighth in 1921. I have seen references to Hill's first name as, "Benny," but not "Bennie."
There is good reason to believe this is the race where Fred Comer was injured when a sliver of wood from the track pierced his forehead. He was relieved by Jerry Wunderlich. The top- four finishing order appears below.
