Indigo Twins @ Time Trials!

Image of The Week
This image of Johnny Aitken and Tom Kincaid at the wheels of their National Motor Vehicle Company race cars appeared in the December 12, 1909 Indianapolis Star. It was part of a collection of pictures supporting the Sunday edition of the paper's coverage of the upcoming time trials at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The track had only recently been paved with 3.2 million bricks. My best guess is that Aitken is in the number 8 car and Kincaid in number 7. I say that because Aitken drove that number at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August. Newspapermen sometimes called the two teammates, "The Indigo Twins."
