William Miller Herschell

Indiana Hall of Fame Journalist William Miller Herschell (author of the poem, "Ain't God Good to Indiana?") wrote a spectacular feature story on the Cobe Trophy with a complete description of the public roads course over which the race took place. Set in northwestern Indiana the course covered a lot of countryside between the cities of Crown Point and Lowell. The article was published in the Indianapolis News June 12, 1909.
