Legends of Ascot

I came across this peculiar but interesting site for the "Legends of Ascot" while perusing messages from the Yahoo Auto Racing History Group. While the head has it dated 2006, the site has content added as late as this year. Ascot Park (closed in 1990) was a storied short track in the middle of Los Angeles with a long history of great sprint and midget races. Back in the days of front engine roadsters racing in the Indianapolis 500 many of the great drivers of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway competed at Ascot, proving their mettle and winning opportunities to race in the "500."
