David Story in Uganda

 
First Super Speedway contributing artist David Story is on a church mission in Uganda. Check out David's message about motorized travel in this African nation, which relies heavilly on a motorcyle called "the Bodda-Bodda." It's an interesting peek into a lifestyle vastly different from the American home of First Super Speedway.
 
Here is the note David sent with his art:
 
"Just thought I would send you a sketch of one of the main modes of transport in East Africa.  It is called a Bodda-Bodda.  A small motorcycle that serves either as you f150 pickup or your Suburban depending on your needs.  They got their name in the 70's when Iddi Amen Dadda was the head of the country.  They nationalized all the business and all nationals got what ever transport they could find and headed for the border.  Most of that transportation was on one of the motorcycles-Border to Border getting out of the country now slurred into Bodda-Bodda."
